So much creativity is unleashed with Plus Plus. We have the big ones and so were excited to try the little ones in this set. We tend to free build instead of following the patterns. There are enough pieces to make a lot of fun happen! We love the different colors. I would give this as a gift, use it for travel and just have at home!
Reliably great toys, and has some super cute designs. Love that these pieces are universal with other sets we've gotten and a great expansion pack for our collection.
Our family enjoys building with open ended type toys, so we thought we'd give this a try. It's a fun concept, with illustrated directions that should be easy to follow for kids, but unfortunately even the adults had issues understanding some directions that were just not very clear. And the placement of these blocks is important to make things stay together - if it's a little off, it falls apart. The robots in the directions were good starting points, and can lead to some imagination, but it's a look at type of toy once it's done being built, because it falls apart easily if it's played with at all, especially arms and legs. It keeps kids' attention for a little while, but having frustrations with creations falling apart made it less fun for everyone.
This set offers a nice twist with some gears. You get 250 puzzle pieces, 34 hubs and 8 wheels but unfortunately no base plate with this set. Assembly takes about 20 minutes per robot or more depending on age and ability. I feel that this set expanded our existing collection nicely. Of course as with all Plus Plus sets, I wish they were more affordable and came with a storage solution. But as a family obsessed with Legos (loving the opened ended infinite fun they offer but also well aware of how expensive they are and used to no storage, lol), I definitely feel this stuff is overall well worth the money. You get hours of fun, quality family time, great educational value, infinite replay value and awesome resale value too (if you ever dare part with this stuff that is). Yes, I absolutely do recommend!
We love Plus Plus! We discovered these with our grandchildren several years ago at a children's area of a favorite museum and we've been getting them ever since. We have several kits and this is one a great addition for my little guy that loves robots! I can't wait to give this to him the next time they come over to visit. We are going to spend the day building this kit, which will surely lead to bringing out the whole container of Plus Plus pieces and kits that we have and just building the day away. What I like about these toys is that you can build whatever you want or you can follow a pattern and build something specific. There is room for free play, which our little ones seem to enjoy. I definitely recommend anything from Plus Plus!
